Q Planning a wedding can’t be all that difficult. Why should I pay someone to do what I can do for free?

A A few years ago, I read a letter from a bride-to-be that went something like this:

When I planned my wedding, I shamelessly worked my office phone and the fax machine during the working day. How else was I to schedule fittings, talk to my florist, and investigate lodgings for my out-of-town guests during business hours? It all ended the day I received an email from my boss: "I have something for you on my desk." I went into her office and was presented with a hefty fax detailing a caterer’s hors d’oeuvres choices. My boss was not too interested in the tuna sashimi or the chicken satay. I kept my job, but started to plan my wedding on my own time. And that is no easy task. Planning a wedding is like a full-time job in itself. It’s challenging to squeeze in all of your wedding related meetings, appointments and phone calls with all of the meetings and appointments and phone calls you have for your real job...

Couples get married all the time without ever using the services of a professional bridal consultant. What we offer is time, experience, and convenience. We manage the details which are too time-consuming for a couple that is already busy enough with their daily life.

Your wedding should be one of the most beautiful, memorable, and enchanting days of your life, not a time of stress and frustration. Allowing Zitan Weddings to handle the details will allow you rest in the confidence that they all will be carried out. Your only responsibility will be to relax and enjoy your special day.

Q I have my own vision of my wedding. Will a wedding planner try to impose her/his own style?

A A good wedding planner will listen to their client. They will be in tune with your desires and style and will work with you to make sure that your vision becomes a reality.

Q I’ve already planned every detail of my wedding. Why would I need a wedding planner?

A Even if you have your wedding planned down to the last detail, you will need someone to help execute that plan. On your wedding day, you don’t want to have to deal with a vendor who can’t find their way to the reception; you want to relax and enjoy the day. By hiring a professional “day-of” wedding coordinator, you can rest assured that she/he will execute the details while you, your family, and your friends enjoy the day.

Q When should I contact a wedding planner for assistance?

A Because the wedding planner can assist you with every aspect of your wedding (planning parties, selecting caterers, venues, etc.), you will want to contact her/him preferably nine to twelve months prior to your wedding day. By contacting the planner early in the process, you help to ensure that your date is available -- not only on the wedding planner’s books, but also on the books of the vendors you desire to use.

Don’t fret, however, if you only have a few months or even weeks before the big date. Wedding planners have access to several venues and vendors and will be able to find those who will be available for your special day and still provide the quality that you desire.
